Foodborne illnesses are illnesses that originate from eating food contaminated by infectious organisms. The symptoms include upset stomach, dehydration, diarrhea, and fever. Click here for more on food poisoning.

Cardinal Flower

  • Uses:  Emetic for an upset stomach from eating something bad.

  • Preparation: mashed blossoms, leaves, roots boiled together to create a decoction to drink

  • Active Chemical Ingredient: Hastatoside
  • Preparation: powder from seed
